I love the bit about the gradual addition of the harmonic overtone series. I’m not sure how Lenny could validate this claim but it works as a convenient illustration.
Still, I wish he hadn’t used a beautiful old Scots/Irish folk tune as an example of troglodytic moaning/singing.
For another take Adam Neely dove deep into the cultural complexities and hegemony of western theory.
I don’t agree with everything but it’s a great piece.
